Happy Times

stone-house

Shib, Shib, are you up?

Som, hush! Everyone will wake up” Madhu, cautioned, “I will also come.”

Shib and Som and sixteen year old Madhu were friends. Summer mornings were for aimless loitering, stealing fruits and watching the morning train pass by. “Control this girl; always hanging with boys; who would marry her?” neighbors would complain to an apologetic mother.

Those carefree innocent days were full of happiness.

Time changed. Madhu left with her husband. Shib and Som left for study and job.

Stone house still remains as does the tree. Memories of happy time linger around them.
