Turquoise blue water of the Arabian sea was sorrounded in a semi circle by the land from Nariman Point till Raj Bhavan. As the sea front buildings lit up in the evening, the stretch of land would sparkle like a Neck Lace. Locals call it Queens Necklace.
This is Mumbai. Ambitious people gather here in the hope of making it big. Real estate developer Santani wants to be the richest man in the country. Sanju, a slum dweller, also dreams to own a tower on the other side of the bay.
Looking at the undeveloped seafront, Santani muttered to his partner,
“Such a waste of prime land, acquire it.”
“captive vote bank,” said his partner, “politicians will never touch.”
“Sent Sanju in,” Santani asked his assistant,
“Salam sahib,” said the young boy full of cunning and ambition,
“Vacate that piece of land?” said the tycoon pointing at the other side of water, “money is no object.”
“Sahib, I used to dream of working from this side of the bay” said the ambitious boy, “my time has come; I want ten percent of your profit as my fee; if you don’t pay, next will be your turn.”

The dirty underbelly of Mumbai very realistically portrayed. The dialogues were spot on. Loved this Abhijit.
