Arriving without a booking in peak season, he hoped to talk his way around.
“Sorry sir,” answered the reception clerk, “nothing for a week.”
A lot of haggling later, manager offered an employees room at double the rent and no complementary breakfast.
“Look at the view,” manager cooked up his most convincing fake sales pitch, “ don’t the beach and bay look gorgeous!”
“What about this ugly metal beam?”
“You won’t even notice it,” manager argued with some conviction, “unless you spend time in the room; who does that on a holiday?”
