“Sir you have to stop this party,” said the police man looking at the decorations.
A real estate tycoon had organised a poolside party after winning a court battle against building a multistorey paid sports complex.
“On what ground officer?” asked the host, “we have won the case fair and square!”
“A stay order has been obtained, sir, by a public interest litigator,” answered the officer, “against imposing entertainment tax on citizens.”
“Ideological battle between private and public interests continues,” septugenarian tycoon wondered looking at his stillborn party, “ and I thought of givingfree pool access to local population.”

A tough one – something has to give if there is to be progress and improvement in life, a free swimming pool might have been a good thing for the community.

Everything is being politicized these days. Some people are too quick to litigate. A good story and well written, Abhijit. —- Suzanne

An interesting debate, thoughtfully explored in your story. I guess that debate will continue.

Dear Abhijit,
Politics…entertainment tax, even for a poolside party. Sorry state of affairs. Nicely done.

Litigation is about someone building a modern facility out of public pool. Public may have to pay. There is animosity between public and private. Thank you for reading and leaving your comment.

The entertainment tax doesn’t surprise me. They’d tax our every thought if they knew how to monitor and count them.
