All his life, Nikhil had been an advocate of rationality. He did not believe anything that is beyond his sensory perception. Nirmala shared Nikhil’s worldview. Ever since they moved into the new home of theirs, one after another events have shaken Nikhil’s belief system.

Sitting alone in the cafeteria in the neighborhood shopping mall, Nikhil placed an order for a cup of black coffee. He needed time to think. A dose of caffeine, he thought, might give him clarity.

Bhola’s voice in his vibrating cell phone, brought Nikhil back to present “sir come home madam is not feeling well!

  1. This, standing alone, sounds to me like the beginning of a ghost story witha haunted house. Or, perhaps a man who has just poisoned his wife and is pausing to contemplate and regret his actions. Forgive my wanton speculation. 😊
