“Get up and get ready,” pronouncement the sentree. Eldest son of emperor Shahjahan, heir to the imperial throne, Darrah Shikho, is an ordinary prisoner today. Lost one battle after another, before the prince was betrayed by his host, Nawab of Sind.
Darrah sat down to offer his morning prayer. Light of the morning sun, coming through the opening overhead, lit his face. Certain to be executed for rising against the emperor, Darrah was at peace with himself. He readied himself for the long march ahead. Only, if he knew what life had in store for him.
