“I must end it all,” he resolved looking at the bunch of old black and white phographs piled on a tray, “today is going to be my new beginning.”
Gone are the days when people would take pictures using a black and white film and preserve the photographs in an album for viewing at a later time. Today’s selfie snapping generation, takes photographs at whim and deletes them at will. Where is time for reminiscing?
“Only, if forgetting was so easy!” he thought gulping his drink and looking at the photograph of his first love, “I must lose my mind first.”

The memory is a lot harder to erase than a few digital photos, for sure.

Lost love could easily make one lose one’s mind, but that still may not be enough to erase the memories.

If only we could erase bad memories… Although how would we learn?

One may try to block out unpleasant stuff. But it is a Herculean task. Alcohol. Sometime helps, albeit temporarily. Thank you for reading.

Dear Abhijit,
Pictures are easy to erase in these days of advanced technology. But the memories remain. Well written story with a timely message.

When pictures go the memories stay, happily for some but sadly for others.

Sad but in some cases true, Abhijit. It’s also in some cases for the best especially if the couple is too young. I hope he’s not drinking to forget. A good story. —- Suzanne

Erasing the memories with alcohol—too bad that raises its own set of problems. Sad story.

Photos are indeed easily erased and so too our history. Love these lines, “Today’s selfie snapping generation, takes photographs at whim and deletes them at will. Where is time for reminiscing?” As long as our mind does not fail, we do have our memories, for good or for bad. They make us who we are. Nicely done, Abhijit!
