“Beware, Owls in the Road” he saw the notice during his regular morning walk on the backyard of his country home.
A flurry of questions went through his mind, “what does this notice mean? Who has placed it on his property? Why was it not noticed when the property was acquired?”
Mr. Singh was an introvert and a recluse with a paranoid tendency. One of the first thoughts that went through his mind was of some neighborhood kids playing pranks with him.
“But who would do that?” he reasoned, “no one knows me here. I have just moved in”.
His shy demeanor stopped him from enquiring in the neighborhood. He picked up his phone and dialled his daughter, his all time trouble shooter.
“Beta, look what you have got me into,” Mr. Singh decided to attack aggressively, “I have owls in my backyard. Who knows, they may bite also. Can an old man not rely on his daughter for a simple job to be done well?”
“Calm down dad,” daughter cajoled, “it is me who has placed the notice, so that kids don’t disturb you playing in the back alley.”
“In that case, why say owls and not owl?” barked Mr Singh, “Can you not do anything right?”
